The Problem:
The deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon will lead to the loss of many unique species. Most of which aren’t in other placed in the world. The cause of the deforestation is the result of the clearing of the land and poor use of it by subsistence cultivators. The clearing of the land is done for commercial uses and speculative interests. This has lead to the decline of biodiversity because as the land gets destroyed, more and more individuals will be lost of a habitat. This will cause problems as well, because if they survive they will be forced to move into another individual’s habitat, which would lead to competition between species.

The Potential Consequences:
© Mass habitat loss
© Some species may become extinct
© Can cause competition between species
© Unbalanced diversity between species

The Solution:
© Have park rangers to enforce forest laws
© Find a new way to get resources
© Have regulations to know what areas can and cannot be cleared
© Find another place for commercial and speculative uses
© Find new cattle pasturelands
© Make taxes for people that need to use the land
© Know the number of species in the area before cleared

The Economy:
© Find ways to repay for the land that has been cleared
© Make new habitats for species that lost their homes. (Like move them to another forest)
© Make jobs for people to help find out more about the species in the area and where else they can live.
© Build areas for the species like in an environmental center
